Adelaide is an Australian food mecca.
In recent years, particularly the last decade as we’ve seen the city’s revitalisation kick in to high gear, general food awareness has skyrocketed.
Among many things to cement this has been the annual Tasting Australia event each April, happening soon after the events of Mad March so we’re still feeling the summer festival vibes.
While this is happening across the course of 10 days, I can’t help but acknowledge that we have begun contributing to the food scene in Adelaide and I couldn’t be prouder.
We have something different to the fine dining scene, but something resonant with locals across the city and state of South Australia.
And we believe The F Factor will become a love for travellers to Adelaide too.
Our food tour is about all things fun and flamboyant, the local treats that us locals grew up with. The stuff that most travellers miss while they’re here.
We delve in to the histories of foods like fritz, Fruchocs, frog cakes and pie floaters. What are all of these? Well, that’s what we explain on the tour, as well as how they became so loved.
We have a quirky nature here, and this Adelaide food tour is definitely that. There’s no wine or cheese involved – that’s best saved for another experience.
Instead, travellers can taste samples of a few key products, and take home a few more to let those memories linger. Not to mention more recommendations to whet any later appetite!
It’s short and sweet (literally and figuratively), a quick but informative insight in to foods you wouldn’t know about otherwise.
And it’s also personal. What would an Adelaide food tour be without a few personal anecdotes? As a local I grew up with these treats and love them all equally. I couldn’t be more excited to share my stories.
Curious travellers, like William and Amy who are pictured above, have already caught on to this discovery tour, and I can’t wait to meet more of you to show you Adelaide’s fun foods!
Come on The F Factor with us and discover the best of Adelaide’s meats and sweets! We run tours Wednesdays at 9am and Saturdays at 2pm, as well as selected days listed on Airbnb Experiences.
Flamboyant forever,
Katina
