Flamboyance Tours and Feast Festival

This is Flamboyance Tours’ first year with Feast Festival, and we couldn’t be more thrilled! To be part of one of Adelaide’s long-standing festivals is humbling, and not to mention we love flamingos too! We want to celebrate Adelaide’s diverse queer community in the best way we can – by strutting our flamboyant stuff through Adelaide’s streets!

Local guide/Flamboyance Tours owner Katina is leading one event before Feast, and one event as part of the Feast Festival 2019 program, who previously worked for Topdeck Travel taking travellers to more than 20 countries across Europe. Her expertise translates back to her home city through Flamboyance Tours, where you will always gain a fun, quirky and immersive Adelaide experience.

Feast Festival: Queer Art Walk

As advertised in the 2019 program, Flamboyance Tours is teaming up with Feast Festival to bring you a local queer art walk, with some fabulous history thrown in for good measure.

The walk will focus on two of the program’s visual art exhibitions – Daring to be Different at the Migration Museum, and the City Library’s Crochet with a Gay Hooker by Richard Boyle.

This Adelaide walking tour takes in the North Terrace cultural precinct and City Library – places many of us utilise every day. But you’ll walk away knowing much more about these locations.

Feast royalty Dr Gertrude Glossip will make a special appearance to give an extra splash of panache to this one-time event.

Adelaide Pride March 2019

Separate to the Feast Festival, but often linked as the preceding event, Adelaide’s Pride March kick-starts Queer Month celebrations in the city!

Join us for Adelaide’s Pride March in 2019! Whether you’re a first-timer to this celebration of diversity, or just wanting to expand your friendship circles, this is an inclusive walk for all ages and identity groups.

You’ll gather for an early drink to get a brief history from owner and guide Katina about Pride March celebrations and the rainbow flag. Then you’ll walk in harmony from Light Square to Victoria Square as part of the official parade before you have the option of partying on across the city. There’ll be glitter, selfies and great banter as you take part in a growing Adelaide event!

*Our event does not include the Pride Party wristbands that get you into the official after-party spots. That can be purchased separately from Pride Adelaide here.

What’s Included?
– THEME: Flamingo! Wear as much pink/feathery/flamingo-themed gear as you like!
– A rainbow flag to wave, stick in your hair, or keep for the future
– A short history of the flag and Adelaide’s pride marches
– The chance to make new friends before we show off our amazing flamboyance together on the march!

*Organiser Katina will be taking photos throughout to be loaded onto Flamboyance Tours’ Facebook page after the event.
