Why our Adelaide walking tour goes deep in 90 minutes
Welcome to Adelaide is a 90-minute walking tour led by a born-and-raised local guide, taking in Rundle Mall, Adelaide Arcade, Parliament House and Adelaide Central Market. It stays short because the depth comes from the guide’s own knowledge of the city, not from covering more ground.
Every guide grew up here. We speak from experience, sharing how we hung around Adelaide Arcade as teens, or had a relative involved in politics. We think that’s the difference between a tour and a proper introduction.
Depth isn’t about how long you spend somewhere. It’s about who’s showing you around. We hand you the stories that take years to gather yourself – why Adelaide became known as the City of Churches, how a food and wine capital grew out of a colonial grid, the history behind those heritage shopfronts on Rundle Mall.
You leave knowing Adelaide, not just having seen it. And this is an approach that’s earned a bit of recognition beyond our happy walkers.
We took home Gold for Cultural Tourism at the 2025 South Australian Tourism Awards, were Highly Commended at the 2025 Australian Tourism Awards, and picked up Best Workshops and Talks at the 2026 Adelaide Fringe.

What you're probably wondering
Is 90 minutes really enough to see Adelaide?
Yes, it’s enough to get properly acquainted. This walk isn’t trying to cover every inch of the city – it’s giving you the context and stories that make everything else you do here make more sense. Most walkers are surprised by how much ground, and history, we cover.
If you want to go even deeper, our Iconic Adelaide Tour runs for three hours and covers more ground again.
What makes this different from wandering around on my own?
Us. A map shows you where things are. A local guide tells you why they matter – the gruadual development of Adelaide, or the reason Rundle Mall looks the way it does. You could find some of this yourself, but you won’t find all of it. And you definitely won’t find it told by someone who grew up here.
Is this a good first tour to do in Adelaide?
Yes! At 1.5 hours, it fits neatly into a stopover or a spare morning with its 9am start and 10.30am finish (outside the famous Adelaide Central Market). Plenty of time to explore afterwards if you’ve got time up your sleeve.
Do you run this as a private tour?
We do. Private tours suit groups of eight or more, corporate outings, or anyone who’d rather have Adelaide to themselves. It costs a bit more for that flexibility; we’ll tell all when you ask us.
Good to know
– Bookings are essential, and close prior to the event. If you’re trying to book within 12 hours, please contact us!
– The end point of the Adelaide Central Market is not open on Sundays or Mondays, and Wednesday is an ‘optional’ day for stallholders where about half of the market is open. If you book on these days we encourage you to explore neighbouring Chinatown after finishing the tour instead!
– If there is only one person booked, we have the right to reschedule or cancel the tour.
